Our Own Dr. Porn Makes Good
I haven't heard from Dr. Porn in a while, so I wasn't entirely sure what he was up to. Fortuantely listener Jay sent me this tidbit today from Adult Video News:
Antonio Passolini to Direct The Ozporns for VCA
CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Director Antonio Passolini will begin shooting a new feature for VCA Pictures called The Ozporns on Tuesday.
The Ozporns is billed as the adult parody of the wildly popular MTV sitcom "The Osbournes," a reality-based comedy that follows the lives of Ozzy Osbourne and his family. Passolini also wrote the script.
"I missed probably the first 10 episodes of The Osbournes, but the first time I saw the show, I was like, 'The Ozporns,'" Passolini told AVN.com. "I wrote a satire of the show and the people that read the script have given a lot of positive feedback."
Passolini said VCA is putting some resources into the three-day production. "I always like to do a really good job. It's not just going to be a cheap little show," he said. "We spent a lot of time finding a location somewhat like theirs. It's in Malibu overlooking the ocean."
Passolini's script includes three vignettes that are tied together with a central recurring theme. "But we still have the ability to go off on tangents like they do on the show," he said.
Passolini devoted special attention to casting. He originally considered playing the lead of Izzy Ozporn himself, but instead decided to make a cameo appearance. Baz, an adult performer with a British accent, will play Izzy. Tina Tyler will play Izzy's wife, Sherry. VCA contract star Tawny Roberts plays their daughter and Cheyne Collins is the son, both of whom are college students in The Ozporns.
VCA star Chloe will be herself in the video as the plot entails Collins' character trying to become a porn producer. Nikita Denise, Aria, Sindee Coxx (a personal assistant) and Ricky (white rapper) are among the other performers lined up.
Passolini recently directed Club Sin, which earned an AVN Editor's Choice in the upcoming June issue. His feature Captain Mongo's Porno Playhouse won the 2002 AVN Award for Best Sex Comedy. He also directed the acclaimed black comedy Raw and the AVN award-winning Best Video of 1998, Café Flesh 2.
"I never take myself too seriously," Passolini said. "I take this genre seriously, but if you get whipped into thinking you're Martin Scorcese . . . Some directors are so self-possessed. This isn't Hollywood. I prefer comedy. I prefer comedy kind of dark and in porn kind of subversive.
Ultimately, the goal is for people not to fast-forward through the talking. And if they wanked it a few times, too, I succeeded."
