It’s About Time

I love Brad Garrett.

I’ve known Brad for years. We met working on a Disney cartoon called “the Mighty Ducks”, in which we played hockey playing ducks from outer space. You know, the usual.

Last night Brad won his first Emmy for his work on Everybody Loves Raymond. He’s been nominated several times, but this was the breakthrough. And it was long overdue.

Brad is so good he makes it look easy. And I think that’s why he’s been overlooked and underestimated by the Academy up until now.

It isn’t just his work as an actor and comedian that make him so deserving. Brad is an incredibly warm and generous man who works tirelessly for charities like the Pediatric Aids Foundation. He is always the first one with his hand in his pocket. He is grateful for everything he has, and he is forever giving back.

In just a few years, I’ve seen Brad go from a self-doubting, struggling bachelor to an incredibly successful husband, father, activist and actor. He hasn’t just found his career, he’s found happiness.

Good for you, Brad. Good for you.
