Three Things to be Happy About

1. NEW MP3s

I have a few new things uploaded for you tonight, and I think they're going to fill you with a kind of joyful dread you've not had since the premiere of Joe Millionaire.

First, from Otis Fodder's wonderful 365 Days Project, an absolutely stunning montage of inspirational songs written specifically for Mary Kay Cosmetic representatives. With new lyrics set to such great inspirational tunes as "Gentle On My Mind", The Vickaroos make you want to hop in your pink Cadillac and moisturize the world.

Secondly, a kind reader sent me this lovely version of Yes Sir, That's My Baby from the Itazuke Japanese Jukebox. I really can't explain it. It just has to be experienced. Even then, I'm not sure it will seem real to you, but more like a sweaty dream brought on by too much cough syrup and a very high fever.

2. THIS EMAIL

The Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center had a grand opening recently and Carol Channing was in attendance. She got up on stage told a story about Ethel Merman.

It seems Ethel turned down the role in "Hello Dolly", and resented Carol for becoming so famous after getting that role.

After not speaking for years, they found themselves sharing a limo ride. The first thing Ethel said to Carol was that a passenger on the airplane she had flown in on was bleeding from the rectum. Hilarity ensued and they became the best of friends, with Carol's head ending up in Ethel's lap.

Now just try to get THAT image out of your head.

3. NEW SHOWS

The 11/30 show and the 12/15 show I did with Mr. KABC are finally uploaded to the server and are being encoded as we speak. They will probably be available Friday.

Also, I will definitely be on Mr. KABC's show this Friday night, which I'm looking forward to. I have some complaining to do about the Superbowl, Meet my Folks, the constipating effects of Vicodin, the Christmas decorations still up in my house, and why in God's name someone doesn't give Nia Vardalos a make-over.

It may not sound like a lot of content, but by my usual standards, it's fucking Nicholas Nickleby.
