Herro, Dorry!
Longtime ex-listeners and heavy drinkers Kathleen and Roger have sent me some lovely theatre posters from a recent trip to Japan. I don't know why I find this so funny, but God help me, I do.
There's just something about an all-Japanese cast acting out scenes from the French revolution that never gets old. And seeing the name "Bjorn Ulvaeus" over a Japanese cast, well that's just comedy gold, I tell you.
Speaking of foreign language versions of Broadway musicals, Mr. and Mrs. Roger also sent me this link. Can you even imagine? Don't bother, I already bought it.
I also want to highly recommend that you listen to Mr. KABC's show this Friday night, when I'll be on from 9:00 - midnight. I don't want to say too much, but I had a MAJOR ASS star sighting at the gym today, and I'm still reeling from the experience.
The very nearness of him! Sweating and grunting, lifting weights, doing squats. And who knew he was so heavily tattooed? Two words . . . "American Idol". And no, it wasn't Reuben.
And if that's not enough (and let's face it, it never is for you people), I also have a Japanese cover of YMCA, and the adorable Kim "Tootie" Fields singing a love song to Michael Jackson, back before he was icky.
Not convinced? All right. How about a chicken clucking an aria from Tales of Hoffman? Because I have that, too. Oh yes I do. And I have a great cover album of Bee Gees hits done entirely on the pan flute.
And that should be enough for anyone.
