Wingle Bells

I got an email yesterday from a longtime ex-listener, calling my attention to a startling piece of news.

Apparently Wing has released a Christmas CD.

I almost hyperventilated when I saw this webpage. It was true; it was all too true. Wing is now destined to become part of the fabric of the holidays. Familiar and exotic at the same time; she is the mandarin orange stuffing in your turkey.

I urge you with all of my remaining strength, to purchase her CD immediately and make it part of your horrible, dysfunctional holiday proccess.

Please enjoy these samples, courtesy of Wing herself, and see if you can remain unmoved.

  • Jingle Bells
  • Joy to the World
  • Santa Claus is Coming to Town

    New MP3s

As you all know, I am a huge fan of American pop hits covered in German. In fact, I have an entire multimedia section devoted to the Teutonic toe tappers.

To that end, I am please to present yet another German cover, graciously given to me by yet another longtime ex-listener and connoiseur of the finer things in life. Here are The Beatles singing She Loves You in German. Ja, ja, ja.

By the way, this was recorded at a very high level, so adjust your speakers accordingly or you'll suffer an injury to your anvil and stirrup.

Along these same lines, new longtime ex-listener Craig tells me there are music reality programs in Germany, too. Their version of American Idol is Deutschland sucht den Superstar, and they've also got their own Star Seach. They even have their own verion of Popstars called Popstars: Das Duel.

I'm also posting another MP3 for you today that I should have posted months ago. I'm of course talking about Walter Brennan's stunning cover of Ruby (Don't Take Your Love to Town). This is so incredibly disturbing that I could only make it available to you now, when the Christmas holidays are looming. It seemed right.

    And finally . . .

A few months ago, I offered up a photo of Alyssa Milano that someone had sent me, showing her incredibly hairy belly in a cropped top. At the time, I wondered how someone with so much money and so many stylists could go to a a premiere looking like Sasquatch, and was raked over the coals by a few of my more humorless readers.

Yesterday I got this photo of the hirsute Ms. Milano, dishing up turkey alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt at the mission on Thanksgiving. I was consumed with guilt. How unkind I had been! Here was a lovely woman, taking time out of her holiday to help the less fortunate.

Then I got a good look at this.

Praise the Lord and pass the Nads.

    Amen.
