Oh, what the hell

I got an email from a lovely ex-listener named Sherrie, who suggested a plan of action for my stagnating career.

Now, understand that I usually don't pimp myself out too terribly on these pages. I'd rather you just understood what a bottom feeder I am in the entertainment world, as opposed to advertising it.

But Sherrie had a fine idea, and I thought I'd share it with you:

"I am an XM Satellite Radio subscriber and I just visited their site and requested that they add The April Winchell Show to their programming. It's a long-shot, but I wondered if you encouraged visitors to your website and fans from other places (the Yahoo group, etc.) to do the same, maybe the numbers would prompt the XM people to look into reviving your show on their satellite network.

I know there are many "former listeners" like me who would love to be able to hear your show again on a regular basis. It's great that the people at KABC have kept you on the air for LA listeners, but the rest of us are SOL since KABC isn't a clear channel station like KFI was.

Anyway, if ever a voice deserved to be picked up via satellite and shot back to vast portions of the planet, it's yours. I think XM might be just the ticket. Hell, they've got "The Truckin' Bozo." Surely you have at least as many fans as that guy".

Well, Sherrie makes a good point. Any station carrying The Truckin' Bozo can't be tarnished by adding me to the roster.
