On The Radio

I'll be on the air with Mr. KABC tomorrow, 9:00 PM to midnight. Tune to KABC AM 790, or listen to live streaming here.

We'll be discussing many important things, including my new most-hated commercial, the bad news about how many calories I'm supposed to be eating during the course of a day, and how much fun it is to get a biopsy.

And if that isn't enough for you people (and it never is), Mr. KABC has also informed me that he has procured yet another incredible guest for our live, in-studio version of What's My Line.

I really don't know how he thinks he can top himself after scoring Jonathan "Bangin'" Antin last time. That still has me in a state of perpetual arousal.

So judging by the wattage he was able to pull out on that score, I suppose tomorrow's guest could be almost anyone. I'm secretly hoping it's him.

Newly Archived Show

The July 15th remote from Disneyland's 50th Anniversary is now uploaded in the archives for your listening pleasure.

I think this show is noteworthy for several reasons.

First, there is an extremely uncomfortable interview in the first hour with Goofy. I had thought we'd be interviewing Bill Farmer, the man who plays Goofy. But when he was escorted to our booth by his Disney handlers, were we told that we had to actually pretend he was Goofy, which was terrifying. I tried to approach it with a sort of wry detachment, but you can hear the resentment in Mr. KABC's voice, and I think that gives the whole thing an aura of pathos which is unrivalled.

Secondly, there is the matter of wearing microphones while riding Space Mountain and shrieking like cub scouts on fire. This is made all the better by Mr. KABC's insistence that he would be vomiting soon. Good times.

Finally, there is the unmistakable boredom that creeps in during the second hour, perfectly capturing the essence of two middle-aged people who just want to go the fuck home.

From the Mail Bag

Longtime ex-listener Catalina sends this sequence of photos from someone's ill-fated 4th of July fireworks experiment. Bottoms up!
