April Winchell

I got an email today from longtime ex-listener Paul. He made a claim, which, if true, will send the earth hurtling off its axis, and spinning into the sun.

The email contained a link, with just three words. Three little words that could change my life forever.

WING IS COMING.

It goes without saying that I almost passed out. Things got a little twinkly and black around the edges, and I had to put my head between my knees.

Not only does Wing appear to be coming, she appears to be coming to my neighborhood. It isn't even like I have to drive an hour to see her, although God Knows I would. Hell, I drove to Cerritos to see Frank Gorshin and Dick Van Patten in The Sunshine Boys. Well, the first act, anyway.

Still, the odds of something like this being true seem astronomical. I decided to look a litle further, and found this page. Scroll down to see who's performing at 3:30.

That's some crazy shit. And in a weird coincidence, she appears just a few hours after Benny "Gently Into That Goodnight" Mardones (if you recall, Mr. KABC and I discussed him on the show last Friday).

Still, something doesn't feel right. Wing could also be the name of a band, and there is no mention on Wing's official site of any appearance in Santa Monica. I find it hard to believe she would omit that, when she was careful to promote her appearance at The Angus Inn in Wellington.

So I'm putting out an official request here. If any of you know anyone associated with this concert, or if you can verify with certainty that this is indeed the Wing, the enchanting Chinese chanteuse from new Zealand, the one with the rusty pipes, please confirm it for me.
