So, I need your help.
I’m trying to locate a piece of music I played on the Mr. KABC show a while back. It was an amazing piece of work, and I absolutely adored it.
Someone took the theme song from everybody’s favorite show (and by that I of course mean Quincy, M.E.) and put their own lyrics to it. It was hilarious.
A few people have emailed asking me to upload it to the site this week, and for some reason or other, I just can’t find it. It’s upsetting, because I tend to be very organized about this kind of thing. Not only that, but I have a FANTASTIC idea for a small project using that track, so I really want to find it.
I know that it’s in the audio archives somewhere, since I played it on the show. If I could locate the show, I could conceivably edit it out and make an mp3 of it. But a Google search of the site doesn’t turn up any mention of the Quincy theme on any archived episode. So you know, fuck.
Anyway, if you happen to know what show I played it on, let me know. You can access the archives over here. Or, if you happen to have the track itself, that would be great too. Even better, even.
While searching for some Quincy related visuals to add to this post, I found an interesting clip on YouTube. And, seeing as I am only here for your convenience and amusement, I did a screen capture so you don’t have to watch the whole minute and a half to get to the climax:

Now from what I understand, this is from some German television show, and the narrator is trying to convince us that the woman pictured in this scene is Courtney Love.
While I do believe it’s true that Courtney Love was in this watershed episode, there is no way in Dusseldorf this could be her. But you know how those Germans are. “Close” only counts in horseshoes and German revisionist history.
In other news, I got a job.
Well, sort of a job. I got a recurring character on a cartoon series for Nickleodeon called Tak. I did my first episode last week. I play sort of a militant lesbian sheep that sounds like Rosie O’Donnell. True story.
I worked with Mindy Sterling last week, who is really so cool. Also in the cast is Maurice La Marche, who you know from all sorts of things, like Pinky and The Brain. The star of the show, who was not there last week due to a prior commitment for . . . Celebrity Duets, is Hal Sparks. I’m hoping he’ll be there tomorrow, when I do my second episode. I want to ask him if Marie Osmond is as bat shit crazy in real life.
Tuesday is the pilot for Fox, which I am very excited about. Though if you had told me that my first on-camera television pilot for a major network would have Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter in one of the sketches, I’d have knifed you.
And the eBay auctions close tomorrow. The Winchies have done so well, and I’m so happy about that. I raise a little cash for Project Angel Food, and you validate my delusions about being able to sew. It’s just a really cool thing all around.
I have been getting some requests for comissioned Winchies, which I would very much like to do. But I have to get through this week before I can drag out the sewing machine again. I’ll get in touch with everyone who asked about this early next week, and I’ll see what I can do.
Speaking of the auctions, you may recall that some of the photos were taken on a tabletop with potted plants. Like this guy.
