By now you may have read some of the horrendous reviews of The Half Hour News Hour. That’s the show I did the pilot for some months ago, but ultimately passed on when it got picked up by Fox News.
John and I moved on Sunday, and only got our internet up last night. So I had no idea how much bad press this show has been getting since a clip was “leaked” to You Tube.
I thought I would do a little Googling just now, to see what sort of things people were writing.
Eventually, I came across a story on ABC News. It was similar to other pieces I’d been reading, except for the last two paragraphs:

I hardly know what to say about that.
At first, I was sort of alarmed, because I thought I might get hate mail from retarded people for using the word “retarded”. You don’t want that.
But then I realized that this reporter had to actually listen to my old radio shows to find a quote that seemed relevant in some way. I pictured this poor guy sitting at his desk all night, listening to me talk about Quincy reruns, and wondering when all his dreams died. And that kind of delighted me.
Plus the quote they used is kind of funny. Well, funnier than B.O. jokes, anyway. Retards are always funnier than body odor. That’s the second rule of comedy.
