What would you say if I could deliver two hours of high quality entertainment to you this Saturday, starting at 2:00?

It would be exciting, wouldn’t it?

Sure it would.

But instead, I’ll be on the radio.

Yes, I’ll be doing a show on KTLK this Saturday, from 2:00 to 4:00. I’m filling in for Bree Walker, but I’m going to take those two hours and make them my own, by doing whatever the hell it is I do.

It’ll be like the old days on that other station. Two hours in the middle of the afternoon, with nobody listening and nothing to talk about. Hoorah!

And guess who gave me the gig? Guess who emailed me and asked if I would be interested in doing fill-ins over there, and then came through with this job?

Well, in a weird twist of fate, the Assistant Operations Director over there is none other than SCHAFE! Yes, the beloved Schafe I spoke about on KFI all those years ago, my old producer over there, the one I forced to bring me water and candy during the show, that Schafe, is all grown up now, and he gave me WORK.

I’m tearing up a little.

It’s like they always say, be nice to people on the way up, because you’ll meet them again on the way down.

That would be pretty damned poignant if I had ever actually been on the way up.
