The other day, someone sent me a sound file of a famous movie star talking to a group of studio executives over a speaker phone. He was giving a presentation of sorts, talking about movies he’d like to see, and his ongoing love affair with film.
While I really enjoy the video mash-ups John and I have been doing lately, the bulk of my experience is working with audio. I ‘m always looking for ways to work with sound files, and after listening to this one a few times, I started to get an idea.
Of course, it helps that this beleaguered star has been the subject of much scrutiny and gossip over the years, and his sexual orientation is, at least to some people, very much in question.
I was struck by a phrase he repeated a few times, and it soon became clear that this file could be re-edited to say something very, very different.
So in honor of Pride Week, I present my newest audio remix; the coming out we’ve all been waiting for.
