So by now you know that moving this entire site has been a lot of work.
Or at least, you should know that. I mean, I think I’ve complained enough over the last week or two to get that across. Pay attention, for Christ’s sake.
Of course, I’m a firm believer in the old addage, “You can never bee too rich or too thin or complain enough”, so I thought I’d bitch a little more before I get to the point. And I do have one, so just relax.
Here’s thing.
You know how when you move, you look at all your stuff and say, “I can’t believe I have this much shit”?
Well, that’s what moving this site is like, except instead of boxes, every single thing comes wrapped up in code. And when you move something from one place to another, all of the code gets broken, because your movers are drunk.
Ok, it’s not really like that, but I’ve stretched the metaphor pretty thin and I have nowhere to go with this now.
The point is, everything here is stored elsewhere; the files, the pictures and the mp3s are all on a server somewhere. And you’re able to access them because I’ve written code into the site that points to where everything is stored.
So when I move something, all that code has to be re-written, because it’s pointing to a space where the file used to be.
See how I did that? It’s like HTML for Dummies, only more insulting.
All of this is my way of explaining to you why there are only about 4 shows archived. Because you’ve been asking.

Because there are 6 or 7 years worth of shows, broken down into 1 hour files, with the wrong code, many encoded in the wrong format, floating in space. And I have no one to blame but you.
So now you know what I’m doing this week while my boyfriend is at Burning Man, eating Hot Pockets and looking at sluts.

What the hell? April, why aren’t you at Burning Man with your man? Slut-watching is fun, if only for the laffs. You’re missing a prime opportunity for partner bonding. And like money, complaints, and trimness, you can’t get too much of that.
Oh, I’m sure there’s lots of us who would be happy to help you re-encode/fix/etc your shows for you, if you felt like farming some of them out to us.

April, I use a program called Streambox Ripper that converts WAV, MP3, and yes, WMA, to MP3. Plus there are other utilities that can do the job. Send one to me and I’ll convert it and send it back, so you can decide for yourself.

Yeah yeah yeah, boo hoo part 3: grunt-work did ever sucketh as hard as Riemann geometry, but slaves are a bitch to feed.
You may want to envision this as cracking a crusty knuckle: hurts, yes, but then there’s that “over-with” glow afterwards. Blah fuckin’ blah, as well.
