New Podcast with Marc Germain

January 24th, 2008 · 27 Comments

Wednesday’s podcast is now uploaded for downloading, ripping, burning and discarding.

Yes, I see that it’s Thursday. I see that. Don’t point to the calendar and roll your eyes; it’s unbecoming.

I had a little technical trouble with this one, so I was delayed a bit. I still think you’re getting your money’s worth.

Besides, there’s a silver lining in all this. Friday’s podcast is tomorrow! Isn’t that exciting? You get Marc and me, blathering about jack shit, for two days in a row!

Okay, maybe that’s not such a good thing, but I’m only one woman.

Now, because Marc and I are nothing if not obsessive compulsive, we’re adding a new feature to this podcast. I have no idea if it’s going to work, but it’s an interactive concept first developed in the 1960’s. And it’s that’s the kind of cutting edge, 40 year old technology that the two of us really understand.

We explain the feature about six and a half minutes into the podcast. To play along, you’ll have to be listening at your computer. But if you’re listening on your iPod or in the car, don’t feel bad. It’s not that interesting.

Are you ready?

Then here we go!

I saw that grill a few months ago and laughed my ass off. I called it the RIBi. :D

I loved the Podcast. The filmstrip concept with the tone is a bit jarring, but fun to follow along.
I have an idea on how to end your podcast. Just be talking and cut it off mid-word. You’ll leave us all wondering what you were going to say, and it would be a great tease for your next podcast as you can finish your word as you begin anew! How about that?Or better yet, how about a big John Foley fart? I heard he produces some pretty awesome ones.

I wonder what April and Marc would sound like if they did a podcast on the Hawaii Chair http://www.hawaiichair.com/hawaii/

Here’s just the stupid sound effect to end the show with:

I always thought the “PONG” sound during the film strips was to wake you up.

The interactive prompt reminds me of the old May Co. dept. store shopping experience, everybody just looked around when the tones went off, waiting for something to happen. I was a kid that got lost and wandered into womens clothing, the tones just kept going off until they found me hiding inside a display clutching some dress. On the way out that day I kept asking what those sounds were, nobody said a word.

So this podcast is great, the tones have meaning, I know better, and I do not have pull on womens clothing in terror!

Incidentally the clothing that person is wearing with Jerry Lewis up there looks like something from that era, Who is that anyway?

My mom is a nurse so we said “urinate” and “i need to have a bowel movement” or “BM”. Yeah, that wasn’t too odd.

I have a request for a topic in an upcoming podcast…
It must be about the new movie Teeth that delves into the cultural world of vagina dentata!

this is just lovely. Philadelphia cream cheese has come out with cheese cake filling. My market only carries the giant pouind and a half tub for five bucks. It may not be the best cheese cake filling in the world but there is lots of it. Well there looks like there is lots of it, it east too quickly. I didn’t even buy pie crusts with it as a pretense.

So where is the Friday Podcast we were promised???

  • 17 DavidinBerkeley // Jan 25, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Topic for future podcasts: Ms. Winchell once told a story about examining Mick’s butt for signs of cancer. When will she be doing this for JF?

  • 18 DavidinBerkeley // Jan 25, 2008 at 6:45 pm

    Autre topic:

When three men stole drugs from a dealer in Edwardsville, Ill., the dealer and a partner allegedly snatched one of the men and roughed him up, seeking payment for the drugs.

In November, police arrested the alleged dealers after the roughed-up victim reported that he had been held down, paddled, had some hair shaved off, and then deliberately burned on the neck and shoulders by having freshly baked cookies taken straight from an oven and held against his skin. [Belleville (Ill.) News-Democrat, 11-6-07] (from News of the Weird)

“You go up against Hillary Clinton, you get…you get….you get ass cancer” - Steve Bosell, as voice by Phil Hendrie

Mick ever go toe-to-toe with Hillary?

That fucking song at the end made my ears bleed. Thanks.

Now I’m going to have to go plant a tree or something just to balance out the universe again.

  • 21 creeto // Jan 26, 2008 at 11:34 am

I got a tub of that cheesecake filling a few months ago. It’s great on cinnamon raisin bagels.

My Mom worked at KFC for more than 15 years, so the end of the article from the 1st interactive link warmed my heart & soul:

“Earlier this week, the president of KFC, also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, asked Pope Benedict XVI for a papal blessing for its new Fish Snacker sandwich.”

To which request the Vicar Of Christ was alleged to reply: “hey, sure, I’ll bless it … just as soon as you chase those big ugly fuckin’ rats away from the thing - they don’t look like Catholics to me!”

  • 24 JohnnyBoy // Jan 28, 2008 at 1:11 pm

So we were able to try Carl’s Jr, In-And-Out, and Angelo’s on our recent trip to Carlsbad, Leucadia, & Encinitas .

    Burgers good….fries bad

  • 25 coasterboy // Jan 29, 2008 at 12:07 am

CARL’S JR. has sucked for years. In-N-Out is very good, if you are up for what they make. Angelo’s - not so much.
Best burget I know is at Lucile’s Smokehouse. Not fast food, ut wicked good. Worth the 10 bucks. http://www.lucillesbbq.com/locations.html

  • 26 JohnnyBoy // Jan 29, 2008 at 6:57 am

We had the Portobello Burger at Carls Jr and it was just dandy

  • 27 daveleb55 // Jan 29, 2008 at 2:39 pm

The evil “devil chasing me” song at the end was ok, but shouldn’t it be in Japanese or something? I think it would add something to it’s overall wickedness.
