  Wow. Cynicism is aive and well, I see. So when April dies – and she will – that will be funny? I would be sad. When she was diagnosed with cancer, my heart broke. The thought of her possibly dying was painful.

  Shit, my ex-brother-in-law got out today. His fiance had him arrested on felony kidnapping, but the charges were dropped after she refused to testify.h and they are still getting married. He’s the father of my 11 year old nephew and the whole family was looking forward to him being completely out of the picture for 25 to life. My sister claims he has only been a crackhead since dating her. She’s deluded.

  the problem with the Rachmaninoff tirade is that it negates the fact that we have recordings of rachmaninoff himself playing his major works.They were made over sixty yezrs ago and they are mono, but they do exist. Good try on other counts. The truth is I’ve tried to hate rachmaninoff myaelf for years and I end up coming back to his music. Not just the symphonies and piano concertos, but ‘the vespers’ , ‘isle of the dead’ and the ’symphonic dances’. Furthermore, what I wouldn’t give to have been at the american debut of the third concerto’ the N.Y. Phil with the composer at the keyboard with gustav mahler conducting.
