My cats agree.
2 Speedy Cerviche // Feb 3, 2008 at 1:18 pm
I agree with the sentiment, but damn if I don’t bristle every time I see the word “lolcat”.
3 JohnnyBoy // Feb 3, 2008 at 2:16 pm
I feel the same way about the word “blog”, and that comes up a hell of a lot more.
I can’t help picture someone saying “blog blog blog”

I asked the cats…..the fat one walked away when he realized there was no food involved.
L. Pusscat groomed herself
Chadich said “meow”, but I didn’t know how to take it
The other two were sleeping

The dogs said they do get Dane Cook, but they’d agree to anything
6 badpope // Feb 3, 2008 at 3:19 pm
It ain’t just you. Most who posess triple-digit IQ’s find his idea of humor baffling.
7 Matthew Dickens // Feb 3, 2008 at 3:46 pm
I think he’s just too out of control. Like he’s on something… or should be on something.

Here’s my current list of “comedians” who are NOT FUNNY:
Dane Cook
Kathy Griffin
Carlos Mencia
George Lopez
All of the Blue Collar Guys
Jay Leno
Andy “total fucking” Dick
There. I said it. I feel good.

I don’t think Cook is funny. I just think some entertainment entity invested so much money in him that they continue to make people think he is funny. Sort of like New Coke or the second Darrin on Bewitched.
10 Xanadude // Feb 3, 2008 at 5:32 pm
Or the rest of the folks on my list. They just suck.

If you ever DO get Dane Cook:
Use blankets to keep warm.
Drink warm milk.
Do not induce vomiting.
Consult your physician immediately.

I like Jim Gaffigan. I think he is funny. I like his “hot pocket” routine. It makes me LOL.
13 Xanadude // Feb 3, 2008 at 9:40 pm
gaffigan IS funny!

I agree with all of these, absolutely. I respect the gays’ opinion on most things, but they’re way off on the Kathy Griffin thing.
George Lopez sucks, but he does at least deserve props for punching out Carlos Mencia.

Funny! But it’s not a lolcat image until you use all kinds of baby-talk misspellings. For this to be legit, it’s got to read, “Maybee iss mee… but Iz juss dont git Dane Cook.” You see?

This website is a place of learning.

Maybe is cat so smart he talk good
18 lupeSan // Feb 4, 2008 at 5:33 pm
ok, i’m gonna disagree with the kitties on this one. i admit i havent followed dane cook lately, but when i saw him do stand-up on TV awhile back he was kind of funny. maybe he got too big for his britches, making him an easy target, i dont know. but then i think kathy griffin is funny. and i’m straight. so go figure.
(the late bill hicks was my all time favorite –gladly trade him for dane cook.)

I’m gay and I’ve never heard Kathy Griffin. How can I catch up?
20 pal Jacky // Feb 4, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Pretty much have it down. But I still like Ron White from the blue collar guys. I do think it could be one alcoholic talking to another so I won’t press the point too much. “I had the right to remain silent, but not the ability’ makes me laugh because I’ve been there. Dane cook has got a funny style for about fifteen minutes, until one realizes that all his stuff sounds the same. A real one trick pony. To catch up on Kathy Griffin? Why? it is like not knowing what Carlos mencia means by “dee-dee dee”. ignorance is bliss.
21 pal Jacky // Feb 4, 2008 at 9:05 pm
My least favorite is carlos Mencia by a longshot. If you have to keep teklling pople how controversal and cutting edge you are, you aren’t. I like chelsea handler more for her standup, but I do watch her show on E!. again a druck blone women with big tits and I’m there. Lewis Black is my overall favorite these days. Political humor is really difficult in this day and age and he does it beautifully. I just wish Wanda sykes would get back to standup soon instead of being a talking apple in the applebees comercials.
22 JohnnyQuest // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:15 pm
You’re on the right track, Turntablist, but the lolcats syntax is not so much baby talk as it is like an animal learning english as a second language, combined with the typical internet typist’s lack of capitalization. Perhaps something like:
look! iz dane cook!
wutevar.
23 Stretch // Feb 5, 2008 at 3:15 pm
“…i saw him do stand-up on TV awhile back he was kind of funny.”
YES - but not the good kind
“DEE DE DEE “- for all the Mencia haters out there
24 pal Jacky // Feb 5, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Does watching a dane cook special make one ‘gay friendly’?
25 coasterboy // Feb 5, 2008 at 8:00 pm
The best comedian in the world is Doug Stanhope.
Do yourself a favour and get/rent/buy/download/steal “No Refunds”.
Un-effing believable.
I’d have his children, if he wasn’t so ef-upped. And married. And I was a woman.
26 pal Jacky // Feb 6, 2008 at 4:23 am
I love doug stanhope. Probably the best drunk comic out there. He asn’t the one to ruin the man show, it was Joe Rogen. Who was at his best one he forcing people to eat bugs. What did tyrone power say in ‘nightmare alley’ about becoming a side show geek? “was born for the job’.
