Hot Damn! Billy Ward and the Dominoes!
4 JohnnyBoy // Jul 3, 2008 at 5:48 am
Correction……Billy Ward and HIS Dominoes !
No mistaking who’s in charge there !
Anyone know any other groups similarly named? None come to mind………So and So and the Such and Such is the standard formula

“Les Brown and his Band of Reknown”?
6 eBayEnigma // Jul 3, 2008 at 8:18 am
Paul Revere and the Raiders
Billy Vera and the Beaters
Gerry and the Pacemakers
Bill Haley and the Comets
Buddy Holly and the Crickets
Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons

Thanks bnaivar, that’s a one.
eBayEnigma, no, not those types of names….they DO follow the standard “Whoever, and the Whatever”

With Three Suns and Fields Trio across the street, I’ll bet the Sahara was a sellout every night!

As someone who’s trying to preserve her family’s past while no one else gives a shit, I recommend, er, commend you on this image. It’s great. JMO.

Oh, now I get it JohnnyBoy…you were speaking of the ones that kind of denote ownership…kind of…oh well, nvm.
11 JohnnyBoy // Jul 3, 2008 at 8:25 pm
No, actually, I’m specifically looking for (Person’s name) and HIS (Something)
Manfred Mann’s Earth band, The Spencer Davis Group), The Alan Parsons Project , Ben Folds Five are NOT what I’m looking for
Les Brown is even somewhat questionable.
More Like Robin Hood and his Merry Men, but not Robin Hood and his band of merry men..
12 Speedy Cerviche // Jul 4, 2008 at 1:39 am
Spider-Man and his amazing friends.
13 JohnnyBoy // Jul 4, 2008 at 2:14 am
Is that a band?
14 JohnnyBoy // Jul 4, 2008 at 2:14 am
I’m sorry, I should have clarified….a musical group that has such a name
15 lovey // Jul 4, 2008 at 8:37 am
You’ve forgotten about Bill Haley & HIS Comets! Ownership AND a spit curl.
16 eBayEnigma // Jul 4, 2008 at 9:41 am
Wow, I guess I don’t really get it…I’ll just go in my corner and stop posting now…!
17 joshpincusiscrying // Jul 4, 2008 at 10:22 am
Spike Jones and His City Slickers
Herman’s Hermits (is that a stretch?)
18 fabulouskelp // Jul 4, 2008 at 12:47 pm
The boys look well fed. The girls look like they get a saltine every Thursday and they better be thankful for it, goddammit!
19 Speedy Cerviche // Jul 4, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Oh, JB…
I was making a little joke. Spider-Man and his amazing friends was a cartoon back in the day. But I’ll make up for my transgressions now. Mr. Pincusiscrying may have beaten me to Spike Jones, but…
Lyle Lovett and his Large Band
Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground
Jackson and his Computer Band
Ted Lewis and his Band
Johnny Sokko And his Flying Robot (the Ska band, not the cartoon)
Louis Armstrong and his Orchestra
Scott Rednor and his Band
Barney Bigard and his Jazzopators
Claude Bareau and his Orchestra
Sean Dowdell and his Friends
Bob Kerr and his Whoopee Band
And that’s just to start. I’ll think of some more later.

Thanks Speedy…..”band” or “orchestra” make sense as possesive, so I wouldn’t count those.
Switching “the” for “”his” or “her” yields comical results….my current fave….Gladys Knight and her Pips
