I was watchin’ on the history channel about crucifixion. about how they still don’t know all the whys and wherefores. but considering how much really bad shit has been done in Jesus’ name since then, the prick couldn’t have suffered enough.
Damn, pal Jacky. Non-religious people have committed many times more atrocities than the religious people, and they’re not done killing yet. Check your history. I had a history professor once who pounded this info, with specific examples, into our skulls cuz he was tired of hearing this myth repeated over and over. It’s a nasty world out there and we’re lucky that some people actually have some sort of morality or other code of good behavior.
Ace, your comment reads to me that you’re suggesting only the religious have a “code of good behavior”. Is that your point, or am I misinterpreting you?
Ace, I get the feeling that “Religious” means “Christian” in your statement. Because when all religions are put together, I’m sure you’ll realize that nearly all wars have been fought with the supposed blessing of some deity. The Aztecs killed a bunch of people and they were pretty damn religious, just not Christian.
I like when Non-Religious people have a war because they generally at least have a non-mystical reason:
[Non-Religious Person] I burned your city and raped your virgins because it was demoralizing to your forces and made good strategic sense.
Vs.
[Religious Person] I burned your town & raped your virgins because God buried treasure right under the Ye Olde Mutton & Leech Shop!
I didn’t say that without Jesus there would be no torture or death. But I for one would rather be crucified than be left to the mercy of the Spanish inquisition, that is just one of many bloody examples of Jesus really ‘paying it forward’ in a dreadful way.
If this discussion continues on this same track, I think we’ll be seeing a helluva “No True Scotsman” fallacy coming from AceExplorer.
Just a hunch. I’m trying to figure out how he rationalizes the assertion that non-believers have committed more “atrocities” than the faithful, and the Scotsman fallacy is all I can come up with.
“Hey, they committed atrocities! No way they’re really religious!”

anyone else think ‘ace’ is just one of those idiots who troll websites for anti-christian statements? I should troll christain websites out of the blue and say ‘I had a teacher once who said more people have been killed in the name of Jesus than anyone else in History-Let me repeat that…’
It is true fact only because he got a 700 year haad start on Mohammad.

Well, yes, Jesus invented the phrase “Don’t have a cow”"
It’s in one of the parables or something…most people don’t know the things I do

palJacky’s comment makes one wonder if we’d have done better had Jesus’ message been “Hate one another”
