Mmmm. Terror soup.
2 ira_shlamazel // Sep 13, 2008 at 11:34 am
Wait, this is a good thing. See, it’s just worded badly.
It’s just reminding us of “9/11-free” soup.
I never cared much for 9/11 in my soup. I much prefer 12/7. Has that asian flavor thing going on.

At the risk of sounding like every third poster on YouTube, I might have to raise the spectre of “fake.”
4 pal Jacky // Sep 13, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Hey, I’ve got a oddity
5 pal Jacky // Sep 13, 2008 at 12:46 pm
what I meant is anyone else know a 9-11 song that is actually good? Rosanne Cash wrote one and it turned out to be the last duet she did with her father, Johnny. What makes her story different is that she was actually there, was 7 months pregnant and had to drive towards the twin towers to pick up her kids from school.
6 coasterboy // Sep 13, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Hey! Who else thinks that Ike’s devastation in Texas is God’s wrath for the terror that Bush has unleashed on the world?
7 John Foley // Sep 13, 2008 at 1:12 pm
Hey Michael Moore’s in the house!
8 ira_shlamazel // Sep 13, 2008 at 3:23 pm
John, upon real close examiniation, I don’t think it’s a fake. The pixels match. I wish it was, but around where I live, there were a few similar things- including a free ice cream cone if you had an American flag on you or your car. Very unfair to the anarchists!
I must confess, when I saw the ice cream sign I went straight home and got my grandmother’s 4 of July rhinestone flag brooch.
Freedom tasted like pistachio that day!

coasterboy,
Did you notice how with Katrina, those who stayed behind were “stupd” and “foolish”, but with Ike, they are “brave” and “bold”.
Remember, if god was going to punish a state for Bush, it’d be Connecticut.
10 pal Jacky // Sep 13, 2008 at 3:45 pm
no ira, florida, remember the landslide of less than 600 votes. It first it was 2500, all they did was run the ballots through again and it went down to 500, then they stopped counting because if a third time proceeded with the status quo gore would have been ahead by 1500. No statistican with any integrety could have been happy with the way that vote was counted.
11 pal Jacky // Sep 13, 2008 at 3:50 pm
why still bitch about it. Because if the truth behind iran/contra were discovered instead of put to death by bush Sr.’s pardons. Half of the current bush’s cabinet would not be there and Bush probably wouldn’t be either.. all people know is that ollie north was a scapegoat. a
12 coasterboy // Sep 13, 2008 at 3:51 pm
I was just musing on what could cause God to attack Texas in this way, because (I forget what wacko televangelist) said that Katrina was God’s retribution for New Orleans holding a gay pride event. So if God caused the first event to happen, he must have caused this one, right?
And if that is true, that god sends Hurricanes when he is unhappy, he must really love hollywood, cause there aren’t any hurricanes there.
13 coasterboy // Sep 13, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Hollywood, the one in California, that makes porn and other godless media to destroy this God fearing country. Not the one in Florida, where old people wait to die or gamble at Indian Casinos (and there is a very nice Holiday Inn - I know, I’ve stayed there), and there are hurricanes.
14 pal Jacky // Sep 13, 2008 at 4:00 pm
The flaw in your theory is that the religous right have the blinders on when it comes to hypocricy. They can be confronted and still not see the point. Take Sarah pallin, when she was questioned on why she kept the money for ‘a bridge to nowhere’ and she said it went to ‘infrastructure’ so why were people concerned. Alaska gave every man, woman and childe $3,200 this week, That could have bought a lot of infrastructure. PS she also sighned a bond measure for schools for more than what she doled out. Bribe the citizens on the backs of school children and your approval ratings will go up to. Imagine what kind of person doesn’t have a problem with this, and you’ve got a McCain supporter, you just can’t argue with their logic.
15 coasterboy // Sep 13, 2008 at 4:15 pm
My dad loves Palin, and thinks that every negative FACT about her is a lie being made up to discredit her, and he won’t listen to any of it. His mind is made up.
16 pal Jacky // Sep 13, 2008 at 4:22 pm
SORRY, I justed get pissed off at the frat-boy arrogance of some people. I’ll change the subject. A letter to the L.A. times about the MTV awards says: ‘….a potty mouthed russell Brand had all the charm of a child flinging around the contents of a diaper…’ . Like anyone expects better from the network that brought us Tila Tequila. C’mon no real people take the MTV awards seriously and to make a statement on how disgusted one is by them just shows how retarded the person is.
17 John Foley // Sep 13, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Be careful pal Jacky, the PC Sheriff just saw you write the word “retarded.”
18 eBayEnigma // Sep 13, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Thank you pal Jacky for mentioning one of my favorite entertainers, Johnny Cash. He was a musical genius and we shall not see anyone like him any time soon.
19 Xanadude // Sep 13, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Using the word retarded is only okay if it’s used incorrectly, such as “Jerry Lewis should be honored for all of the work he’s done for the retardeds”.
20 ira_shlamazel // Sep 13, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Yes.
Johnnny Cash was cool.
Now he’s dead.
Other than that—huh?
The issue was 9/11 exploitation.
Yes. I know. I’m an asshole.
But, huh?
21 Andre // Sep 13, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Using the word “retarded” is so gay!
22 Doug // Sep 14, 2008 at 6:34 am
Right, Andre. The proper word to use is “mongo”, as in, “Jerry Lewis has done a lot of work for the mongos.”
23 JohnnyBoy // Sep 14, 2008 at 8:54 am
“Huh-huh, naw, Mongo straight”
Mongo
24 eBayEnigma // Sep 14, 2008 at 9:40 am
@ira_shlamazel
How are the posts regarding the proper use of the word “retard” and “mongo” relevant to the issue of 9/11 exploitation? Perhaps this can be a learning experience. Enlighten me.

eBay: What, are you the topic police?
Since when has a thread on AW.com ever been really about the topic?
30 Matthew Dickens // Sep 15, 2008 at 2:02 am
Yes, I too believe that we should all try and stay on the topic at hand.
But then again, who cares?
31 bnaivar // Sep 15, 2008 at 4:37 am
I blame Bush for being off topic.
32 joshpincusiscrying // Sep 15, 2008 at 7:46 am
If you don’t eat a bowl of free soup, then the terrorists win.
(I swear I am going to beat that line to death. )

coasterboy:
Look at post # 20 by ira_shlamazel. He makes the comment that this post is about 9/11 exploitationand he is puzzled by my comment about Johnny Cash. In my comment #24, I was just making the point, as you just did, that not all posts are relevant to the subject. I just happen to like Johnny Cash. That’s all. =)
34 JohnnyBoy // Sep 15, 2008 at 8:09 am
It’s always on topic to discuss what to call Gay Midget Retards
35 MyMonoclePoppedOut // Sep 15, 2008 at 12:34 pm
slightly queer
36 ShannonS // Sep 15, 2008 at 4:29 pm
No, it all ties in together.
First we had soup. Then we had ice cream and now we have cake.
There is nothing retards love more than cake.
Oh, and the Cash thing? That comes up because if we all didn’t love Johnny Cash the terrorists would win.
37 eBayEnigma // Sep 16, 2008 at 8:58 am
@ ShannonS
Your post sums it up nicely! I like the way you worked Johnny Cash into a comment about 9/11! Brilliant!
