When I think of high school promenade it is always part ‘Carrie’ the 1976 movie with Sissy Spacek and part Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill… and the Strawberry Hill did get me through that dreadful night.
I can’t believe that I had a dress almost identical to that one in the early 70’s and I actually went out in public looking like that! Kind of looks like my grandmother’s nightgown.
Mine was in 1979. I had his glasses, your pukka beads, his ruffled shirt, and no doubt his 3-inch platform shoes .
The only difference was mine suit was robin’s egg blue polyester. And the song at the prom that was so popular the band played it twice? “Good Times” by Chic.
My mother used to have a bedspread that looked just like that dress…or was it the blazer?
Oh, no that’s right, the bedspread was like the dress and the wallpaper in her bathroom looked like the blazer. It was velvet and satin. I think the bedspread was burned as part of her divorce ritual; but hopefully the wallpaper is still being enjoyed by the current owner of that beautiful Newport Beach condo along with the avocado green shag carpet, the yellow appliances and the gold fabric curtains.
ashamed? I’m just going with the flow.
there have been thousands of people who have tried out for ‘american idol’. Several have just bound to have ended up tragedies. take those with Jennifer Hudson ’s family and this suicide and we are almost there. All we need now is to convince a Clay aiken or a Justin Guarinni that they could star in their own ‘E’ special as long as they ‘ate the cupcake’ and wahlah.—’THS the curse of American Idol’.
Perhaps the most telling part of my Psyche is that my favorite Bond girl of all time is lotte lenya. http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20159002_20159106_20239719_2,00.html
‘look out miss lotte lenya and old lucy brown, the line forms around the corner’ cuz mackie’s back in town.’
clevelandphil: There are a couple of pics of Mick in his Michael Jackson getup here.
On an unrelated note, I’ve decided to build an AR-15. I already have the barrel assembly and the stock, but I’m waiting on a good deal for the receiver and lower assembly. The question I pose to the company is this: what should I name this new toy? Every firearm needs a name, and the only names I can think of seriously suck. Any suggestions? Please, not too femmy.
ON TOPIC!!
Mick looks like crazed directordavid cronenberg. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000343/
Okay, I can’t find a younger picture era but trust me. Or get a copy of the 2-dvd set of ‘videodrome’ on criteria and study the supplements.

That blazer could make someone go blind! But it fits the period.
He’s wearing a wig, right?

Its hard to find a bag that clashes as perfectly as that one does with your dress. You have my utmost respect!
