Today’s archived show is the Mothers Day show from 2001.
This show has some good moments. As long time ex-listener Craig puts it, “This is one for a road trip.”
We talk about a lot of things, including mom’s early career as a showgirl and pin up model, her famous paramours, meeting my father on live television and being played by Kim Novak in a movie.
The glamor continues, until I start talking about cow tongues and Wal-Mart wine. Things go further south when my sisters call in with unfortunate childhood memories. Word to the wise: not everyone should take ginko.

This is the holy grail for me. I remember AW’s mom appearing the year after, REFERRING to the spicy stuff that got talked about here, but I didn’t hear the broadcast itself.

I’ll also let drop that I had my second celebrity dream yesterday. I only remember that it was John Foley who was the celebrity.
It should be no surprise that whatever he did in the dream I can’t remember it, since I’ve never met or spoken to him.
(It’s content like this that has doomed me never to have a radio show of my own….)

Sounds like Amber too. Is she still stalking Robert Blake?

When I met Nina, I asked her where in the basin we should we live when we move from Northern California. She said “Whittier”.

When did you meet Nina?

Why, at the March For April event at KFI, where I also got Mick to do the “Mung Mung Mung” song on video. Taylor Negron was there, Amber was there, Bill Handel was there- and the donuts were just o.k.
That was a lot of fun!

Ira has met AW’s mom, Mick, Amber AND works someplace where good-looking, well-built men take their clothes off.
I’m jealous!

I think AW should sell some of her mom’s “cheesecake.” That would bring in some bucks!

Yeah, I’ll own it- I am a lucky fuck!

Believe it or not, that was supposed to read ‘lucky duck’.

better to look like her mom than her dad. Comedy central this week has been showing lots of old ’strangers with candy’ videos and i’m reminded that my friend james is still convinced that the father was played by Paul winchell. If you’ve seen the show, you know how hysterical that is. the father does sort of look like Papa winch. But the appears like a corpse which has had rigor mortis set in.

I’m still trying to process the part where you say your Mom is a great cook.

I just had Celebrity Dream #3.
No lie, it was Liza in jail, forced to shower in front of the guards.

What did the guards do to deserve that kind of punishment?
